On the 30th July 2022 we were invited to sing with Cowbridge Male Voice Choir at their annual concert, and it was a truly special night. Hearing the 50 strong voices reverberating through the hall was both emotional and exhilarating. The audience response to our solo pieces was incredible and I don’t think we’ve ever had such an amazing reaction. To top the evening off, everyone sang the Welsh national anthem and there were goosebumps a plenty. It was a fabulous concert we won't forget, and this lovely account of the concert says it all:

Annual Concert –July 30th 2022
Indigo May Scott Williams Frank Maynard
Wow, just wow! What a duo, what a sound, what a reception!
Indigo May blew away both choir and audience with the depth and quality of their singing. Not a dry eye in the house with their rendition of ‘Both Sides Now’, whilst their interaction with the choir was magnificent.
The fact that Scott has managed to be mentioned in every issue of Llais Y Fro is remarkable – but only because he simply deserves to be. His playing at our annual concert was calculated to generate the maximum possible emotional impact and it succeeded perfectly.
Our thanks and respect to you Scott – magnificent.
Bravo Ladies! You were a tour de force! An unsung hero of the choir, Frank has been the main force behind the administrative planning of the annual concert for many years. It is a huge undertaking from detailed seating layout to ticketing, promotion, health & safety and even choir hydration.
Many thanks for all that you do Frank!
Renewal and respect
Given the terrible and tragic events that unfolded after last year’s annual concert, this was always going to be a hugely challenging and emotionally charged occasion. That our choir managed to deliver such an extraordinarily high quality and composed performance was testament to their concentration and sense of occasion.
This was nothing short of renewal. An astounding feat of musicality and passion that had the capacity audience giving a united standing ovation at the close – and rightly so. The Choir worked their socks off in rehearsals leading up to the concert and delivered an occasion that will live long in the memory.
Our town turned out in amazing numbers to fill the concert hall to capacity, saying with every ticket bought, “we believe in you”.
Bravo to our musical team of Rhiannon and Sandra – any doubts they had were dispelled when the choir hit its first notes confidently and with ultimate precision –and never faltered throughout the night.
